This is the most common travel plan that most people plan to visit, three destinations together in Tamil Nadu, in a couple of days. This plan is a brainchild of my cousin, who used to plan her trip, along with their parents because she wants them to visit char dhams (four pilgrimages). Indeed, my uncle, who has retired and they try to spend some quality time sitting at home, so it’s better for them to keep visiting us here in Bangalore so that we can plan some trips with them. When I took off from Delhi, my offer letter stated I need to be at Mysore. When I waited at Majestic Bus stand for Mysore bus conductor was calling out the name "Mysoor Mysoor Mysoor", I double checked if this bus goes to Mysore. On the way, I read about this pronunciation and it was derived from Mahishasur. Say this 10 times as fast as you can and it will get shorten to Mahisur. Durga is a familiar name in north India. Here, in Mysore, she is known as Chamundi Devi. A dedicated shaktipeeth like Vaishno Devi is present here as well.
